New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings Odds, Lines, Spread, and Picks NFL Week 16

Recent History

The teams last played in 2019 with the Vikings winning 28-10 on the road. Kirk Cousins passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns and Dalvin Cook had 218 scrimmage yards – 132 rushing and 86 receiving.

The Vikings have won the last four meetings in Minnesota. That includes a 24-10 victory in 2016, the only time the teams have faced each other at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Giants Offense vs Vikings Defense

The Giants would love to get running back Saquon Barkley untracked.

Barkley is fourth in the NFL with 1,170 rushing yards. However, he has been held to 239 yards on 71 carries in the last five games while catching 18 passes for just 97 yards.

Daniel Jones’ 583 rushing yards is a Giants single-season record for a quarterback. He is fifth among NFL QBs in rushing.

Kicker Graham Gano has made 15 of 16 field goal attempts over the last 10 games. His three games of multiple 50-plus-yard field goals are the most in the league.

Vikings Offense vs Giants Defense

The Giants are 26th in total defense and 16th in pass defense. They face a tough matchup against Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson’s 111 receptions and 1,623 receiving yards lead the NFL. He is just the third player in league history with three consecutive 1,600-yard seasons and has done so in his first three years.

Jefferson’s NFL MVP odds are +15000. Hopefully, he doesn’t really get hurt doing the Griddy.

The Vikings’ best hope of stopping the passing game might be by putting pressure on Cousins. Rookie outstanding linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux is coming off a game in which he had a season-high 12 tackles, forced a fumble that he recovered for a touchdown, and had three tackles for loss in the first quarter.

Cousins leads NFL quarterbacks with seven game-winning drives in 2022. He has had two of his five 400-yard games in five seasons with the Vikings in the past two weeks.

Injury Report

The Giants will be without cornerback Adoree Jackson (knee), who will miss his fifth straight game, and offensive line Shane Lemieux (toe).

Sitting out his third game in a row for the Vikings will be center Garrett Bradbury (back). Linebacker Eric Kendricks (hip) and cornerback Cam Dantzler (ankle) are listed as questionable.

New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction

It will be interesting to see what the Vikings’ mental state is coming off such an emotional victory. The Giants have been tough on the road this season and have what it takes to at least keep the game close.
