NFL Public Betting & Money Percentages for Cowboys vs Titans Thursday Night Football

Fresh off a thrilling victory over the NFC East-leading Eagles on Saturday, the Cowboys travel to Tennessee on Thursday Night Football to face an undermanned Titans team.

Dallas is still alive in the chase for the conference’s number-one seed but will need to win out and get plenty of help along the way.

Tennessee meanwhile, has virtually nothing to play for tonight. There’s a minuscule chance if they won this week and lost the season finale to the Jaguars they could make the playoffs as a Wild Card team, but in all likelihood, their postseason hopes will be decided next week versus Jacksonville.

As such, they’ve elected to sit plenty of key starters, and are also benching Malik Willis for Joshua Dobbs. That’s had a major effect on the spread and total for this game, and money has been pouring in on the Cowboys all week per the NFL public betting trends.

Cowboys vs Titans ATS Betting Splits

Dallas opened up as 3-point road favorites, but that number has ballooned to -13. Per the Cowboys vs Titans injury report, 11 Titans have been ruled out for tonight’s contest, including nine starters. That list includes starting QB Ryan Tannehill and two-time rushing champ Derrick Henry, as well as six key defenders.

Even at the -13 number, the overwhelming amount of spread money is on Dallas. The Cowboys are drawing 76% of the handle, off of 54% of the ATS tickets.

Dallas QB Dak Prescott is fresh off a season-high 347 passing yards in Week 16 and is expected to feast on this depleted Tennessee defense. Prescott headlines the Cowboys vs Titans player props for TNF, and a big game from him will be key to covering this massive number.

Dallas has been a cover machine over the past two seasons. They’re 11-4 ATS on the road during that stretch and 16-7 against the spread as favorites.

Tennessee meanwhile, has also been a cash cow for its backers under Mike Vrabel. They’re 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games when catching at least four points. They’re also 4-0 against the spread as a home underdog since the start of the 2021 season.

However, we shouldn’t read too much into those numbers given the fact that this will be the first time they’ve played without nearly half their starting roster.

Total-wise, this contest opened up with an over/under of 44.5. That number didn’t last long though, getting bet down to as low as 39.5 at one point. As of Thursday afternoon, the total sits at 40 and could be on its way back up. 74% of all over/under bets are backing the over, as is 70% of all money wagered on the total.

Dallas has been one of the better over-targets this year for bettors, while Tennessee has been a very profitable under team. Per the Cowboys vs Titans picks, Dallas is 9-6 to the over and has had its last five games exceed the total.

Tennessee on the other hand is 10-5 to the under. That’s tied for the fourth-highest amount of games to fall under the total of any team in the league.

All three of the games that Tannehill has missed have come up short of the total, and the Titans’ offensive outlook is bleak without Henry and with Dobbs under center.

As far as the moneyline market goes, the betting action is completely one-sided. 89% of the handle and 85% of the tickets are on Dallas as -675 favorites. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who’s actually laying that number on the Cowboys, so the majority of those wagers are likely tied up in parlays.

Understandably, few people are rushing to the window to bet on Tennessee. However, one bettor did reportedly place a $20K bet at 100-1 on the Titans to win the AFC this week at Caesars Sportsbook. That wager would pay out a cool $2 million if it hits.
