Christophe Soumillon was banned for 60 days for elbowing Ryan Rossa. Ryan was knocked off his horse Captain Wierzba and landed on his head and neck. Soumillon was riding Syros at the Thomas Byron Stakes on Friday. He will start the ban in two weeks. He was suspended for two months. The suspension should have begun immediately. A French official stated they are considering changing the rule to start bans for this type of action immediately, as well. On Saturday, Sonny Leon made Irad Ortiz Jr. look like a choir boy by riding a horse in the Lukas Classic at Churchill Downs.
