Ranking the NFL teams most likely to go from worst to first in 2022: Ravens top list, Panthers could surprise

The Cincinnati Bengals went from last place to first place in 2020 to winning the Super Bowl in 2021. Since 2002, 27 teams have gone from worst to top in the NFL. Ravens are most likely to go from bottom to the top. Panthers could surprise.

The Seahawks are the worst team in the NFC West. They traded away their best player and they play in one of the toughest divisions in NFL. The Seahawks have never gone from worst to first in this division. The NFC west produced three playoff teams last season and both teams in NFC title game.

The Jets have the NFL's longest drought without a playoff appearance. They have lost a starting quarterback, a offensive lineman and a receiver. The Jets won the AFC East by going 3-0 in the preseason. Over the past 10 years, the Jets finished in last place six times. They haven't gone from worst to first in franchise history. Ravens are the team most likely to go from last to top in 2022.

The Giants are going to have a terrible season in 2022. They are the least likely team to win NFC East. Brian Daboll will have to work hard with Daniel Jones to improve the team. The Giants have gone from worst to first twice in franchise history.

The Lions finished last season with a 3-3 record. They won three games in the final six weeks. The team won the NFC Central with 10-6 record in 1993. The Lions have only one worst-to-first turnaround in franchise history. Ravens are most likely to go from worst to first in 2022.

The Jaguars finished with the worst record in the NFL last year. Doug Pederson will take over as coach. The Jaguars won the AFC South in 2017. They are the team that has most recently gone from worst to first. The Ravens are most likely to go from the bottom to the top in 2022. the Panthers are also a possibility to surprise. in that list.

The Panthers have improved more than any other team in the NFC South this offseason. They have a new quarterback in Baker Mayfield, a healthy Christian McCaffrey and three new starters on the offensive line. The Panthers went 1-1 against the Saints last season. The team has only existed since 1995. It has already pulled off two worst-to-first runs in franchise history. After finishing in last place during their expansion season in 1995, the Panthers roared back with a first place finish during a 1996 season and made it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Denver Broncos finished last in the AFC West last year. They have gone from worst to first more often than any other team on this list. The addition of Russell Wilson makes them a contender in this division. They won the division in 1991, 1996 and 2011 after finishing last place. It's a fact that the Broncos have won division titles after coming from last.

Ravens are favored to win AFC North in 2021. They lost a lot of players to injury last season. The team's mascot had to be carted off the field during the preseason finale. Ravens have gone from worst to first in franchise history once. It was in 2006 when they won the AFC. North after a disastrous 2005 season where they went 6-10.

Ravens are most likely to go from worst to first in 2022. Only four teams that have gone from first to worst since 2002 have made the Super Bowl.
