Ravens vs. 49ers Prediction, Pick & Odds Week 16: Monday Night Football

Our Ravens vs. 49ers prediction for Monday Night Football based on the best NFL odds believes San Francisco will prove its the team to beat in a potential Super Bowl preview.

For Christmas Day, we get the gift of a potential Super Bowl preview when the San Francisco 49ers welcome the Baltimore Ravens to town on Monday Night Football. Both teams carry 11-3 overall records into this matchup and are the No. 1 seed in their respective conference.

There is plenty at stake in what might be the biggest game of the year. Brock Purdy leads Lamar Jackson in the latest MVP odds race, while the 49ers are considered Super Bowl odds favorites.

Will that be confirmed on the field Monday, or will the Ravens spring an upset to alter the outlook of the NFL season?

To accompany our Week 16 prediction, here is our best Ravens vs. 49ers prediction for Monday Night Football (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Ravens vs. 49ers prediction: Monday Night Football

49ers team total Over 26.5 (-115 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Ravens have one of the best defenses in the league, and it's a unit that could very well carry them through the AFC and all the way to the Super Bowl this season.

However, they have also shown some warts in recent weeks. I believe the 49ers will take full advantage on the big stage to finish off Purdy's MVP campaign.

Two weeks ago, Matthew Stafford led the Los Angeles Rams to a 31-point effort in an overtime loss to the Ravens. Baltimore hasn't exactly stifled Kevin Stefanski's offense in the past, as the Cleveland Browns scored 33 points against this defense in Week 10.

Kyle Shanahan's 49ers are basically the highest evolution of that offensive system, which is predicated on play-action pass concepts.

Purdy's biggest critics will point to the abundance of offensive weapons he has around him. While there is obviously plenty of truth to that argument, it certainly helps make the case for this wager when Purdy has a supporting cast of Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, and Brandon Aiyuk.

The 49ers are third in the league in scoring with an average of 30.4 points per game. They have scored at least 27 points in 11 of their 14 contests and in each of their last six outings.

The only reason we are even getting decent odds on this wager is because oddsmakers respect Baltimore's defense.

Pinnacle, which has one of the sharper trading teams in the world, is charging as much as -134 juice for bettors to take the Over on 26.5 points.

That should be more than enough confirmation to tail this four-star play, especially when we project the 49ers to flirt with 30 points on Monday Night Football.

Ravens vs. 49ers best odds

While most of our best sports betting apps have agreed to set San Francisco's team total at 26.5, Caesars offers the best price on the market with a value of -115 to take the Over. This prop is playable at -120 or better.

You can get plus-money odds on the 49ers to score more than 3.5 touchdowns, but we prefer making this wager instead. That way, we just need five scoring possessions with three touchdowns and two field goals.

With this being such a public game, we have seen plenty of market movement for this matchup. The spread opened at 4.5 in favor of the 49ers before touching as high as -6, but has since settled around 5.5 at our best sportsbooks.

The total started at 45 in the look-ahead market, but is now being listed at 47 or 47.5. This number could continue to climb as we approach kickoff.
