The Ravens will run the ball successfully in this game, but who will get the most carries remains to be seen. However, we will trust the trends from this season and put our faith in running back Gus Edwards.

Edwards has run the ball 86 times, which is more than double the carries Justice Hill has received. While Jackson has more rushing yards than Edwards, the Gus Bus is not far behind, rushing for 346 yards. Edwards notched 64 rushing yards last week against a very good Lions’ run defense and could hit the century mark for the first time this year against the Cardinals.

For the first time in a long time, tight end Mark Andrews is not Jackson’s favorite target. He trails wideout Zay Flowers in receptions, targets, and yards, though he has caught five of Jackson’s eight touchdown passes.

Despite no longer being the primary target, Andrews has still been incredibly consistent. He has at least 63 yards in his last four games, and he has pulled in at least four catches in each of his games this season.

The Ravens are going to run a lot more than they pass on Sunday, but that’s going to affect Flowers more than Andrews. No matter what the game script has called for this season, Andrews has managed to get involved. Against a defense that has struggled to cover tight ends at times, that won’t change.

The Cardinals have held opposing quarterbacks to fewer than 230 passing yards in back-to-back games. That has primarily been because their run defense has disappeared, but it’s still a cause for concern for Jackson this week.

The Ravens run the ball 32.9 times per game, which is third-most in the league. However, they pass the ball 28.7 times per game, the third-least in the NFL.

With all the weapons they have in the rushing attack, they’re going to have no problem exploiting the Cardinals’ run defense. With success, we doubt they will go back to the air unless they need to. Based on how this game should play out, it’s very unlikely they will need to throw late in the game.
