Red River 22 small-school football team 2022

Windthorst junior Brayden Berend is the Red River 22 small-school football team's Most Valuable Player. Jacksboro junior quarterback Lando Belcher is Offensive Player of the Year. Holliday senior linebacker Jaxx Johnson is Defensive Player Of The Year, and Chris Tackett is Coach of The Season. Of the 26 players on this year's team, 17 made their first appearance. This year’s team includes 10 seniors, 14 juniors and two sophomores. Windthorst had four players, Hollidays had five, Jack'sboro three, Olney two, Seymour two and Henrietta one.

Brayden Berend, a wide receiver for Windthorst, was named the Red River 22 small-school football team MVP. Lando Belcher, the quarterback for Jacksboro, led the area with 2,896 passing yards and 37 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. Jaxson Johnson, linebacker for Holliday, made 113 stops on a defense that allowed 10.6 points per game. Windstorst shared the district title with Seymour and Archer City.

Logan Cope, a senior quarterback from Windthorst, completed 195 of 300 passes for 2,301 yards, 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this season. Jovani Rockmore, an olin, finished second in the area with 1,724 rushing yards and third with 20 rushing TDs. Elijah Jackson, the running back from Archer City, had 880 rushing and 8 touchdowns on 127 carries. Cannon Valenzuela, who led the region with 989 receiving yards on 60 receptions, made his first RR22 appearance. Chance Warren, of Archner City and Jonathon Anderle, from Winder Thorst, both made their first appearances. Olaman Hill, offensive lineman from City View, is making his third RR 22 appearance after establishing himself as one of the strongest and talented offensive linemen in area.

Donnell led the area with 11 sacks. Jackson was third on the team with 80 tackles. Miser didn't play a full senior year due to a midseason injury. Stone made his first RR22 appearance after a breakout junior season. Guy made an impact as the Cubs' quarterback. Howard had a good junior year as a receiver in Jacksboro's offense. Gilbreath is making his third RR 22 appearance. He is trying to become the third player to make the all-star team four times next season, after Windthorst’s Brad Green and City View”s Jourdain Durham.

GARRETT BLEVINS, HENRIETTA, was the Bearcats' quarterback and punter. He completed 105 of 228 passes for 1,267 yards, 13 TDs and 13 interceptions. Blevins also was fourth in the area with 1.464 rushing yards and 16 TDs on 179 carries.
