£1 racehorse defies 200/1 odds to become joint-biggest priced flat winner in Britain. Astapor made racing history on Thursday by winning the 6f novice stakes at a meeting in Scotland. Trainer John Riches paid Mick Channon just £1 for the horse 12 months ago. Channan had previously sold Riche's horse called Rain Cap. The horse kept finishing last. The victory made Astor the joint biggest-priced winner on the Flat in the UK since Racing Post records began. It yielded a prize fund of £3,942 for trainer Bridges.
