10 mobile sports betting applicants advanced by MD regulators
Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission qualified 10 applicants for mobile sports betting licenses. The preliminary votes send the applicants on for final approval in November. Four casinos, three off-track betting venues and a sports parlor were qualified. Two ownership groups stood out from the rest: Long Shots and Riverboat on the Potomac. All 10 applications still need approval of the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission. It is scheduled to meet in late November and award some of them. Once approved, licensees will have to satisfy final requirements of state lottery and gaming officials before mobile wagers can be accepted.
