MD commission approves rolling approval process for sports betting licenses

The Sports Wagering Application Review Commission approved a proposal that opens the door to a rolling approval of applications for retail and mobile licenses. The commission wants to expedite the process and allow mobile sports betting in Maryland before the end of the year. There are 30 licenses for physical locations and 60 for mobile. Applications for both types of licenses are due on October 21 at 5 p.m. It is not immediately known how many applications have already been submitted. Some applicants already hold gaming licenses either in the state or in comparable states. It's also not known if any of them have received approval.
