Jazz Steed is a maturing 7YO but continues to perform well in this grade.
He is a 4-time winner in Hong Kong over both the 1000m and 1200m at Happy Valley.
While this Caspar Fownes-trained gelding has not tasted victory since November last year, it should be noted he has spent large chunks of that period in harder Class 4 races.
He has since come back to class 5 in April and his performances have lifted again.
This includes a last start 4th, despite staying wide without cover.
He now draws gate 4 and this is ideal for him.
He can land a good position under Vincent Ho and have every chance to break through once again.
Happy Valley Race 8 #2 Seasons Wit $1.80
Formerly trained by Chris Waller and named Eros in Australia, this Capitalist gelding joined Jamie Richards' stable in Hong Kong with a bang.
This young horse settled well and dominated from the get go, especially over the 1000m at Happy Valley.
He has not only won twice, but finished 2nd twice in just 4 starts here.
He had an impressive barrier trial on 30 June where he led easily until the end and won by 7L.
This shows he is now more fit and mature.
The only concern this time is the top weight, but he will break from a good draw under Zac Purton to offset this.
