Last season the over cashed in at least 50% of games. There were 35 games with an Over/Under of 7 goals. Last year there were only two games that closed with Over-Under set at 5 goals, and both games featured the New York Islanders. In 2020/21 the bookmakers will adjust to the new era of big favorites in NHL.
There are more teams trying to tank for the draft lottery these days. The NHL has been trending towards parity since it shut down during the pandemic. If the trend shifts back towards more parity, betting on sports will increase.
