2022 AAC Basketball Preview and College Basketball Betting Odds

The American Athletic Conference (AAC) is one of the most overlooked conferences in college basketball. Houston Cougars are the only team in the Top-25 College Basketball Rankings. Memphis lost some talent to the NBA and transfers, but they brought in star point guard Kendric Davis from SMU. UCF struggled last year but signed the #64 overall recruit in Taylor Hendricks. The conference is still a couple of weeks away from conference play.

The preseason AAC basketball betting odds suggest that Houston will win the conference for the second straight season. Memphis is the only team with odds under +1000.

Kyler Edwards, Josh Carlton and Fabian White left the team. Marcus Sasser missed most of last year's conference play with a foot injury. Jamal Shead and Tramon Mark should be able to step up. Houston also picked up Jarace Walker and Terrance Arceneaux.

Memphis didn't sign any recruits in 2022 but did sign four transfers. Deandre Williams and Alex Lomax are the only two players in the top 10 who will return. Memphis brought in Kendric Davis, Emmanuel Akot, Keonte Kennedy and Elijah McCadden.

Memphis finished third in the AAC last season. They lost three games in a row early in conference play. Memphis almost upset Gonzaga in last year's NCAA tournament.

Cincinnati's first season under Wes Miller didn't go as planned. They won 5 games in the first 5 weeks but then lost all of their last 8 games. All of the top three scorers are returning and they have a 41st-ranked recruiting class and 31st transfer class.
