Two Phil's horses won the Shakopee Juvenile at Canterbury last out. Frosted Departure won wire to wire in an allowance effort at Ellis Park Juveniles.

Funtastic Again broke his maiden at a mile on dirt and now sticks to the main track. Lost Ark is a Todd Pletcher trainee who has won both starts. He disputed the pace on debut but rallied from midfield when stretching to a one-mile second-out.

Red Route One made his debut in a turf route at Saratoga and graduated second-out at Kentucky Downs. He has to prove himself in the Breeders’ Futurity.

Good Heart made his debut at a mile on the lawn at Kentucky Downs. He is going to race on dirt. Good Heart has to prove himself and pass horses to win.

Two Phil's made his debut at Colonial and won his next two starts. He has won the Iroquois and Canterbury. The race has been franked, with the second and third-place finishers each winning next out. Two Phil’s has shown some tactical speed but he has never faced company this tough.

Carmel Road needs one scratch to get in off of the also-eligible list. Jin Tong needs two scratches to be allowed to compete. He graduated on debut at Los Alamitos back in July.

The last three Breeders' Futurity winners came out of maiden special weight victories. Rattle N Roll (2021) broke his maiden third-out going 1 1/16 miles at Churchill. Brody’s Cause (2015), Maxfield (2019), Carpe Diem (2014), Essential Quality (2020) came from debut maiden wins at conventional sprint trips. Free Drop Billy (2017), Classic Empire (2016) and Knicks Go (2018) won the Futures.

The Breeders’ Futurity is the ninth of 11 races on Keeneland”s Fall Stars Saturday. The other graded races include the Woodford (G2), the Thoroughbred Club of America ( G2) for filly and mare sprinters, the First Lady (g1) and the Coolmore Turf Mile ( g1). FanDuel TV will broadcast the races.

Keeneland is located in the heart of horse country in Lexington, Kentucky. The main track covers just over a mile on the dirt and a seven-furlong chute from the backstretch. Keeneland hosted its first Breeders’ Cup in 2015 and held it again in 2020 without spectators. It will host its third Breeder's Cup, in 2022.

The Breeders' Futurity takes place on October 8, 2022, at 5:14 p.m. Eastern time at Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, Kentucky. Forte is the morning-line favorite. John Velazquez and Rafael Bejarano have both won twice in the Breeder's Futures. Rattle N Roll won the 2021 edition.
