2022 RSM Classic: Course Breakdown, Outright Favorites, Long Shot Picks

The 2022 PGA Tour calendar season comes to a close this week in St. Simons Island, Georgia with the RSM Classic. The four rounds are split between the par-70 Seaside Course and par 72 Plantation Course. Only five of the top 40 players in the world are teeing it up on St Simona's Island.

The Seaside Course was redesigned by Tom Fazio in 1999 and the Plantation Course received a complete overhaul from Davis Love III and his brother Mark in 2019. Pebble Beach GL, Waialae GC, and Sedgefield CC are three potential courses for comparison this week. Three of the last seven winners of this event were listed at over 100/1 odds coming into the tournament.

Matthew NeSmith is playing in the RSM Classic at Sea Island Resort. He finished T53 at the Cadence Bank Houston Open last week. Ne Smith has three top-10s in his past four starts at this event. He has made the cut in all three career appearances at R SM Classic.

Davis Riley is a favorite to win the RSM Classic this week. Riley has made the cut in all of his last five starts since the Fortinet Championship. Both of Riley's wins on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2021 came on Bermudagrass putting surfaces.

Brendon Todd is playing in the RSM Classic at Sea Island Resort. Todd struggled at Mayakoba and finished T53. He has only one finish inside the top 20 at the tournament since 2015. He tends to do his best work on coastal courses with weaker fields.

Sepp Straka is the second-highest-ranked player in the RSM Classic this week. He nearly won a PGA Tour playoff event at the St. Jude's Championship three months ago.
