2022 Week 9 Preview: Miami (OH) RedHawks @ Akron Zips

Brett Gabbert is back at quarterback for Miami after a six-game absence. The RedHawks lost to Western Michigan last Saturday. Miami's offense has struggled this season, scoring 18.5 points per game. They have not allowed more than 24 points in their last five games. Their defense is very good, allowing only 111 yards per contest. They play Akron on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Miami. It's the 115th-ranked run defense. Ryan McWood, Matthew Salopek, and Michael Dowell are the three leading tacklers on the unit.

Akron Zips are one of two FBS teams eliminated from bowl eligibility after losing to Kent State last Saturday. DJ Irons is becoming one the most electrifying players in the MAC. The offensive line has been abysmal in terms of pass protection. Miami RedHawks and Akron Zipped are meeting in 2022. Miami is a team that has a limited schedule. Akron is last in FBC in sacks per game. They have a sack average of 5.4. Their defensive line needs to play a bigger role. It is more than one sack separated from the next closest team.
