The college football betting odds for the Big Ten this season feature just two contenders remaining for the conference title. Those two teams are the Michigan Wolverines and Iowa Hawkeyes, who won their respective divisions and will face off for the right to be called Big Ten champions. Michigan is a massive favorite coming into the Big Ten title game and it would take a Herculean effort for Iowa to knock them off.

Michigan had the number one scoring defense in college football this season, allowing just 10.3 points per game through their first 12 games. They are expected to lock down an Iowa team that is also great on defense, but lacks the offensive firepower to put a real scare into the Michigans and Ohio States of the world, hence Michigan being over a three-touchdown favorite over the Hawkeyes.

The Big Ten West division is a mess this season, with only Iowa being above .500 in conference play from this division. The Iowa offense is horrible, though, and it is hard to see the Hawkeyes challenging Michigan in the Big Ten championship game. But they have done enough to win their division by simply locking down the other struggling offenses in the West and they will believe that their defense is enough to get them through the biggest game of their season.

Michigan won the Big Ten East this season by holding off Ohio State in the final game of the regular season. Both teams were undefeated going into that game, but Michigan’s defense made enough big plays to hold onto that game on their home field in Ann Arbor. As a result, Michigan not only has the inside track to winning the Big Ten title, but making the College Football Playoff with an undefeated record as well.
