2023 LPGA Picks: ShopRite LPGA Classic Odds and Expert Betting Predictions

History was made last week on the LPGA Tour at Liberty National. Rose Zhang won her first professional start after turning pro the week prior. She became the first player to achieve this feat on the LPGA Tour in more than seventy years. This week, we head to the ShopRite LPGA Classic at Seaview Resort’s Bay Course in New Jersey. The field features world No. 6 Atthaya Thitikul, with three other players inside the top 10 consisting of Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim, who returns after a six-week absence. England’s Georgia Hall and reigning champion Brooke Henderson also join the party.

Course Characteristics of Those Who Can Win or Secure Winning Golf Bets

Seaview’s Bay Course is one of the shortest venues the players will play all year. It is a par 71 course and measures at 6,190 yards. Originally designed by Donald Ross and Hugh Wilson, it was then renovated by Bob Cupp in 1998. It features four par 3s, three par 5s, and the rest par 4s. The course gives off a linksy feel, where many of the holes are shaped by mounds and bunkers. Most of the greens are open-fronted and allow players to hit low shots and play along the ground. The front nine features very narrow fairways before opening up on the back nine. The bent/poa greens have many run-off areas, and there are roughly 100 bunkers scattered throughout the 18 holes. A strong approach game and ability to hit these challenging putting surfaces have proven to be the most important factors needed to succeed at Seaview.

Ayaka Furue +1400

Furue has found her form during the past month of golf. In her last four starts, she registered a T4, 2nd, and then another T4 finish at last week’s Mizuho Americas Open. She is one of the younger players on the LPGA Tour and has five top-10 finishes on the 2023 season. She also heads into the weekend ranked 17th in the Rolex Rankings. With this week’s event being a relatively weak field, look for her to maintain momentum to pick up her second career LPGA win.

Ashleigh Buhai +1600

Buhai is a great bet this weekend at 16-1 odds. Last weekend, she shot an amazing 8-under par on Sunday, the best round of the day and shot her up the leaderboard to a T7 finish. If it was not for a bad opening round of 3-over par, she would have been in the mix for the trophy. She now has two straight top-10 finishes after a solo third place finish at the Founders Cup in May. Buhai also has a strong track record at this course finishing seventh in 2018 and sixth in 2020.

Aditi Ashok +2800

Ashok is another golfer that has found good form lately. And at 28-1 odds, she is worth a play. She has posted three top five finishes in three of her last five starts, including a T4 at last week’s event. The 25-year-old cracked the top 50 in the Rolex Rankings after last week’s finish and has bounced back incredibly after a poor start to the 2023 season. There is great value at 28-1 with the way she has found form lately.
