The MLB All-Star game between the American League and the National League takes place Tuesday night, and you can find our MLB All-Star game odds and best bets ahead of the first pitch here.

The Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays dominated their respective leagues and have sent a plethora of representatives to the All-Star Game — but which one of these teams, the American League or the National League, will earn the bragging rights? Here are our thoughts on the 2023 MLB All-Star Game odds.

2023 MLB All-Star Game best bets: ASG predictions and same-game parlay picks

The MLB All-Star Game starts Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET in T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The AL has won the last nine All-Star games and is looking to push the streak to double-digits against the NL.

MLB All-Star Game odds: National League to win game (+102 or better)

The AL is missing a couple of big-name players in their starting lineup in Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, both of whom are dealing with injuries. Shohei Ohtani also has a blister on his hand and will not be able to pitch but is expected to start as the designated hitter as he has been able to step to the plate for the Los Angeles Angels even with the blister.

The NL’s starting lineup is fully intact heading into the mid-summer classic. Arizona Diamondbacks rookie and MVP candidate Corbin Carroll appeared to be injured a few days ago but avoided a serious problem and will be in the lineup Tuesday.

There are many top-level starting pitchers that will be unavailable because of injury or rest, including Spencer Strider, Shane McClanahan, and Clayton Kershaw. That will affect the total but should not make a huge difference in which team wins because both sides are affected.

However, the NL has a deeper bullpen with the likes of Josh Hader, Alexis Diaz, and David Bednar. They are also healthier overall and have a great balance of top-level stars and high-confidence talents that are playing the best baseball of their careers.

We believe that this will be the year the NL bucks the trend and is able to pull one back on the AL.

2023 MLB All-Star Game picks: NL +1.5 and over 7.5 runs for same-game parlay (+192 or better)

As much faith as we have in the NL to pull out the result, that bet is still for positive odds — and while that represents greater value, it also represents greater risk.

Our MLB All-Star Game parlay also has risk because it is a parlay, but it includes two legs that we are highly confident in. Here’s how the two-leg same-game parlay looks on a bet slip.

  • National League +1.5
  • Over 7.5 total runs
  • Odds: (+192 or better)

We are looking to include the NL on the runline to give them more breathing room with the final result. Even though the AL has won nine straight times, the NL has been within one run in three of the last five editions of the ASG. Looking at their roster, they also have players such as Ronald Acuna Jr. and Luis Arraez that are likely to produce, whereas we believe the AL’s roster is more boom or bust.

This is also on pace to be one of the best seasons for home runs, which means that runs can come cheap and they can come fast. The losses of the starting pitchers we named earlier (Kershaw, Ohtani, and others) also means that there will likely be more runs scored in the earlier innings than there would be otherwise.

The over is the riskier of the two plays based on historical precedent. The over has hit in 13 of the last 16 editions of the ASG, but we believe the context of this game leaves it more inclined to hit the over.

Riskier bettors could opt to take the National League on the moneyline in a parlay with the over of 7.5, which would result in odds of +270 or better. Consider the runline/over parlay to be the safer alternative but still for nearly two-to-one value.
