2023 NHL Division Title Betting Odds: 2023 Divisional Races to Be Close

Colorado Avalanche won the Central Division last season. Calgary Flames won Pacific Division but were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs. Florida Panthers won Atlantic Division and broke their long winless drought in playoffs in Eastern Conference. Carolina Hurricanes won Metropolitan Division, but they were also eliminated.

Colorado Avalanche is the overwhelming favorite to win the Central Division title this season. Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, Winnipeg Jets and Arizona Coyotes are also contenders. Arizona and Chicago have the longest odds to be the Stanley Cup winners. The division had 5 playoff teams last season, but also two of the worst teams from the 2022 season: Arizona, and the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Pacific Division is the tightest out of all the NHL divisions this season. There are 5 potential playoff teams coming from this division. Calgary Flames start the offseason with the 3rd shortest odds to win the title. Edmonton and Vegas are set to have great seasons. Vancouver Canucks are the best value.

Toronto, Tampa and Florida finished in the Top 3 last season. Boston made the playoffs last year, but they finished inconsistently. Buffalo and Montreal are not at the level they need to be to compete for the division. Ottawa may make a run at a playoff spot this season, however, winning the Atlantic Division and putting up 100+ points seems out of their reach.

Carolina Hurricanes are the divisional favorite to win the title in 23rd NHL season. The Metro Division is another close race with the Islanders and Blue Jackets on the rise. New Jersey has made some moves in the offseason but they are still one of the youngest teams in NHL. Washington Capitals took a step back last season and are not a serious contender.
