2023 Orlando Magic Player Outlook: Caleb Houstan needs a role

Orlando Magic have three players ranked in the top 10 of 247Sports.com's basketball recruits from the last five years. The list does not have a lot of All-Stars on it yet, but it is full of strong contributors throughout the NBA. The players on the list are still good and are contributors in NBA, despite some development issues.

Houstan was drafted by the Orlando Magic in the 2022 NBA Draft. He is a good shooter and he played well in Summer League. The team needs more guards and needs to play more than one guard. Houstan will play in Lakeland. He will have to earn his place on the main roster. His success will depend on his defensive play and his shooting. It is possible he will get more playing time in his native Michigan. If not, he might get better playing in a college. Orlando has a lot of young guards. They finished 29th in 3-point shooting last year. There are a number of players who need to get playing minutes.
