Brad Keselowski returns to one of his favorite tracks in an attempt to end a lengthy winning drought when he participates in the 2023 Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. The 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion has gone 64 starts without a victory, but has registered three wins in a Las Vegas NASCAR race, the second-most at any track during his time on the circuit. Keselowski has won this race on two occasions and has posted 12 top-10 finishes in 19 series starts at Las Vegas.
Keselowski is +4000, while Las Vegas native Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson, who won this race in 2009 and 2021, are +600 co-favorites in the 2023 Pennzoil 400 odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Ryan Blaney is +700, while two-time race winner Joey Logano, the reigning Cup Series champion, and Ross Chastain round out the top five 2023 NASCAR at Las Vegas contenders at +800. One shocker: Roberts is fading Blaney, even though he is among the favorites at 7-1. In fact, Roberts says Blaney, who has finished seventh or better in eight of his 13 NASCAR Cup Series starts at Las Vegas, barely cracks the top 15.
"He probably should have a few wins there after leading at least one lap in seven straight races," Roberts told SportsLine. "(But) in 13 Cup Series starts at LVMS, he's recorded a 15th-place average finish." See who else to fade here.
Another curveball: Roberts is high on Erik Jones, who is a 50-1 long shot in the latest Pennzoil 400 odds. The 26-year-old from Michigan is hoping to overcome a slow start to 2023, as he was 37th following a crash in the season-opening Daytona 500 and finished 19th last week at Fontana. Jones, who won a Truck Series race at Las Vegas in 2014, matched his best Cup Series finish at the track last fall after he was eighth there for the third time.
