2023 RBC Canadian Open Picks & Odds: Rory Eyes Three-Peat

With two wins in two tries here at RBC Canadian Open, Rory McIlroy has enjoyed a ton of success north of the border. He's back for more in 2023 and is sitting comfortably atop the odds board as a short +450 betting favorite.

Rory McIlroy's final round at the Memorial certainly didn't go as planned but he's playing better and gets a chance to defend back-to-back titles at the RBC Canadian Open this week.

With a lighter field and both Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm taking a week off ahead of the U.S. Open, Rory is fetching some short odds at Oakdale Golf & Country Club.

We break down his chances and more in our RBC Canadian Open betting preview below, including golf odds, free golf picks, and more.

RBC Canadian Open field and favorites

Considering he's a two-time champion and the only one in the OWGR Top 5 teeing it up this week, seeing Rory listed between +400 and +500 shouldn't come as a surprise.

Albeit on different courses, Rory won by seven shots in 2019 after a final-round 61 and then successfully defended that title in 2022 (no event in 2020 or 2021) with a final-round 62, getting the best of Justin Thomas and Tony Finau in the process.

He held a 54-hole co-lead at the Memorial over the weekend but couldn't convert after struggling with his game on Sunday. Could a week in Canada be just what he needs ahead of the season's third major?

The second-highest OWGR player in the field is Matt Fitzpatrick (+1,400), who is just a few weeks removed from his win at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. Fitz finished T9 at Muirfield Village last week and also finished T10 at this event last season.

Some other headliners include an in-form Tyrrell Hatton (+1,200) and Sam Burns (+1,400). Hatton is on a run of five straight Top 20s but did miss the cut here a year ago. Burns, meanwhile, has been solid since his win at the Match Play, finished T16 last week, and scored a T4 finish here a year ago.

Corey Conners (+1,800) leads the pack of Canadians in the field this week, while notables Adam Hadwin (50/1), Nick Taylor (66/1), Adam Svenson (66/1), and Mackenzie Hughes (90/1) sit much further down the board.
