2024 CFP prop bets: Alabama-Michigan props plus Texas odds

On New Year's Day, top four teams in the country will compete in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Both games are wildly popular among the betting public, making it one of the busiest days of the year at all of the best college football sportsbooks.

Below are our favorite College Football Playoff prop bets including picks for both the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl on Monday. 

2024 Rose Bowl prop bets: Best Alabama vs. Michigan props for Rose Bowl Game

Rose Bowl props: First to 20 points - Alabama (-110 or better)

As well as the Wolverines have fared this season, both in the win column and deeper in the box score, Alabama is always built to go toe-to-toe with the best. Conversely, some of these other "best teams in the country" struggle when sharing the gridiron with the Tide.

2024 Rose Bowl prop bets Winning Margin: Alabama 1-6 points (+375 or better)

We like the Crimson Tide to win outright against Michigan, so it’s only logical to jump on the +375 price to select them to deliver a winning margin of at least one point but no more than six in what figures to be a competitive contest.

Alabama vs. Michigan props: First Score Method - Field Goal (+135 at DraftKings)

While a touchdown is favored here, the quality of these two defenses makes us think the first scoring play could come after an offense is bogged down in the red zone or close to it. At plus-money, it feels fully plausible you could get a 3-0 lead and cash this wager. 

2024 Sugar Bowl prop bets: Texas vs. Washington props for kickoff in New Orleans

Sugar Bowl props: Washington to win by 7-12 (+700 or better)

This wager pays 7-to-1, so it's a long shot. But the large return might be worth it, as Washington to win by a TD is not out of the realm of possibility. 

2024 Sugar Bowl prop bets: First Quarter Over 13.5 (-120 or better)

While it is a big game and these teams might be nervous, the offenses are too good not to take advantage of the scripted portion of the game. At 13.5 points, we're looking for a pair of touchdowns in the opening frame. 

Sugar Bowl props: Halftime/Fulltime Result - Tie/Washington (+2200 or better)

For this long shot, look for the game to be tied at halftime before Washington pulls away in the second half. You’ll get paid over 20-to-1 for your money.
