2024 National Championship odds: Georgia football favored to win it all again

Georgia was not able to pull off the National Championship three-peat during the 2023 season, but it did go 13-1 on the season and, with the 63-3 win over Florida State, the Dawgs broke their own 11-month-old NCAA bowl record (65-7 over TCU, 2023) for the largest margin of victory. With the win, the senior class (50-4) finishes with a program record 50 wins, overtaking the 2023 class (49-4) and the 2022 class (49-5) for the top mark. With Georgia's win, its seventh consecutive bowl victory, the program improved its bowl record to 38-21-3. Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Vegas likes Georgia's chances of returning to the top of the college football world.

Per DraftKings and FanDuel sportsbooks, Georgia has the best odds to win the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship, with 4/1 odds at FanDuel and 9/2 odds at DraftKings. The odds at FanDuel have since improved for Georgia, moving to 7/2 odds.  Alabama is next with 11/2 odds on FanDuel and 6/1 odds on DraftKings, with Ohio State third at 8/1 odds on both sportsbooks. Michigan is fourth on both sites, with 8/1 odds on DraftKings and 17/2 odds on FanDuel.

After going 14-1 in 2021, making the College Football Playoff, and becoming the first No. 3 seed to win the national championship, Georgia went 15-0 in 2022, winning back-to-back CFP National Championships. In 2023, Georgia went 13-1, with its fifth straight New Year's Six bowl victory in the win over Florida State, givingKirby Smarthis 16th win over a top-10 opponent as a head coach.Georgia is set to open the 2024 season against Clemson in Atlanta.

The Dawgs will return a starting quarterback in Carson Beck, who had 11 straight games of 250 yards or more passing to open his career as a starter. In 2023, Beck completed 302-of-417 passes for 3,941 yards, the most in the SEC and third-most in the country, with 24 touchdown passes and six interceptions. His 72.4 completion percentage is fifth-best in the country and smashed the single-season program record set by Stetson Bennett in 2022 (68.28%). Beck had the second-most passing yards in a single season at Georgia, just 186 yards behind Stetson Bennett (2022 - 15 games). His 167.9 passer rating for the 2023 season was fourth-best in program history, behind Bennett (176.69 - 2022), Murray (174.82 - 2012), andJake Fromm(171.21 - 2018).
