76ers vs. Nuggets Prediction and Odds for Saturday, Jan. 27

Last year's MVP winner and the winner of the two before that meet in Denver on Saturday afternoon.

Joel Embiid got the better of Nikola Jokic when the two teams met two weeks ago, but the location flips from Philadelphia to Denver, can that be enough to lift the Nuggets to a signature victory in front of a National TV audience?

Here's our best bets for the Nuggets vs. 76ers in a battle of MVP's.

76ers Injury Report

Nuggets Injury Report

76ers

Joel Embiid: The numbers are video game-like for Jokic, who is averaging 36 points per game this season and put up 70 earlier this week against the Spurs. However, he carved up the Denver defense at home in the prior meeting, scoring 40 points and dishing out 10 assists in the win. Can he bring his high level of play to Ball Arena and outduel Jokic again?

Nuggets

Nikola Jokic: The Nuggets were blown out last game against the Knicks, and Jokic took a shot to the eye that has him on the injury report. He's expected to play, and I expect a bounce back effort for Jokic, who is still putting up MVP like numbers, averaging 26 points, nearly 12 rebounds and nine assists.

This matchup sets up nicely for the Nuggets to come back home and get a convincing win against the Sixers.

Despite having the dominant Embiid, the Sixers offense is slowing down in January, 16th in points per 100 possessions this month, and that won't travel well against the Nuggets.

Denver has the firepower to outpace anybody in the league with Jokic and Murray running the most devastating two-man game around. Denver remains a potent offense after it's title winning campaign, sixth in effective field goal percentage this season.

The Sixers had an incredibly effective offensive showing at home in addition to Embiid's excellence, shooting 56% from the field and taking nine more free throws. I believe with the change in venue we see the home team bring a heightened effort and cover as small favorites.

Give me the Nuggets at home.
