The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers face off in the game of the night in the NBA on Tuesday, but there are a few injury concerns to watch out for. 

While the Sixers are expecting to have reigning MVP Joel Embiid on the second night of a back-to-back, he may not be the player to be concerned about. 

Even though Denver last played on Saturday afternoon, the team has listed every single starter as questionable for tonight’s game in Philly.

Nikola Jokic: A two-time MVP, Jokic has averaged just 23.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game in his last two meetings with Embiid. Those are great numbers, but not exactly crazy for the Joker. He could make an MVP statement with a big showing – and a win – on Tuesday. 

Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid: After nursing an injury, Embiid returned to action on Monday for the Sixers, scoring 41 points against Houston in 31:16 of playing time. The reigning MVP would love to make a statement in this game, and he’s already put up insane numbers in the 2023-24 season, averaging 34.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. 

Even with Denver’s starters listed as questionable, I think the team is in a good spot to cover as an underdog here. 

This is a massive game for Jokic’s MVP case, and he doesn’t get to play Embiid often. The two have only faced off two times since 2019. 

Philly won and covered as a home favorite on Monday, moving the team to 14-5 ATS as a home favorite this season. Meanwhile, Denver is just 1-2 ATS as a road dog. Still, the Sixers are just 2-4 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back this season. 

The Nuggets have a major rest advantage, and if all of their starters suit up, I think Denver is still the better team. 

Philly has dominated inferior competition (18-3 against teams below .500) this season, but the team is just 7-10 against teams over .500. I love getting points with Denver given Philly’s struggles against quality opponents.
