A look at where the early betting lines have Miami in the ACC Championship race in 2023
The early betting lines for college football’s conference winners are out and the Miami Hurricanes have odds that put them middle of the pack.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, UM has the fifth best odds to win the ACC Championship in 2023.
Miami is coming off a 5-7 showing in 2022, Mario Cristobal’s first season as head coach.
The teams with the best odds to win the ACC Championship this year? FSU and Clemson are clearly ahead of the pack. Here is a look at the conference championship odds for the ACC teams in 2023:

- Miami: +1400

- Wake Forest: +5000

FSU is coming off a 2022 season in which the Seminoles earned a 10-3 record. Florida State has retained the majority of the starters from that team. Clemson won the ACC in 2022 and finished the year with an 11-3 record.
North Carolina won the Coastal Division after going 9-5 last season and the Tar Heels return one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Drake Maye.
Louisville posted an 8-5 record in 2022 and now they welcome in coach Jeff Brohm to lead the program after Scott Satterfield left to take the job at Cincinnati. Louisville has been extremely active in the NCAA Transfer Portal during this transition time, adding 20 transfers to the roster. That transfer number only trails Colorado, who has added 38 players via the portal this offseason.
The Hurricanes will all four of the teams that have better ACC Championship odds, with the Clemson and Louisville games being played at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami is working to upgrade the talent on the roster via the NCAA Transfer Portal—and thus increase its odds to compete for a conference championship.
The race for the 2023 ACC Championship Game will be different as the conference eliminates divisions and awards the two best teams.
Since joining the ACC in 2004 Miami has never won the conference in football. The Hurricanes have made one appearance in the ACC Championship Game, in 2017. Miami lost to Clemson in that ACC Championship Game, 38-3.
Miami’s first ACC game in 2023 will be October 7th against Georgia Tech, which follows a bye week.
