Where does USC football fall in opening 2025 College Football Playoff Championship odds?

With the 2024 national championship game between Michigan and Washington kicking off Monday, some sports books have already turned their attention to 2025. BetOnline released its opening 2025 College Football Playoff Championship lines Wednesday. USC is tied with Texas A&M for the 14th-best odds to win the title at 33/1.

USC will move to the Big Ten next season and four teams in the Trojans' new conference have better odds to win the title: Ohio State (7/1), Michigan (10/1), Oregon (12/1) and Penn State (25/1). Georgia and Alabama are the two 2025 favorites at 5/1 and 11/2 respectively.

Playing in a new conference won't be the only change for USC in 2024. The Trojans will have a new quarterback and a new look roster in general. Miller Moss, Caleb Williams' backup this past season, threw for 372 yards and six touchdowns in his first career start leading USC to a 42-28 Holiday Bowl win over Louisville on Dec. 28. He'll still likely have to win the starting quarterback job in the spring, but Moss made an excellent case for being USC's QB1 in San Diego.

Since the end of the regular season, 18 Trojans have entered the transfer portal. USC has received nine transfer portal commits in that same period.
