Ackermann's breakthrough season continues apace in Tour de Pologne

Pascal Ackermann won the opening stage of the Tour de Pologne on Saturday. The 24-year-old German has won four WorldTour races since turning professional. Ackermans won a silver medal in the U23 World Championship Road Race in Doha. He had a quiet first season at World Tour level in 2017, with a fifth place in Scheldeprijs and one top three stage placing. In 2018 he won two top-three positions in Abu Dhabi Tour and a third in Handzame Classic. He also won stages of Criterium du Dauphine, German Nationals, RideLondon-Surrey Classic and Tour of Pologon.
