Al Shabab (Saudi Arabia)

The two-time Arab Champions League winner began their campaign with a share of the spoils against Al Nasr. Al Shabab failed to take advantage of their opponent, who had most of their star players on the bench. Al Shabab finished in fourth spot in the just concluded Saudi Arabia League with sixteen points below league leaders Al Ittihad. Al Shabab was knocked out in the semi-finals of this competition in 2020 after being beaten by Al Ittihad.

Al Shabab will be hopeful of making it out of the group stage but face a stern test against a tough Zamalek side.

Zamalek (Egypt)

The White Knight kicked off their journey with a phenomenal performance against Tunisia-based US Monatsir. Zamalek scored twice in both halves to record one of the biggest wins in the first round. Zamalek were potent in front of the goal as they converted four of their five shots on target. Zamalek had a terrible season in the just-concluded Egyptian League after finishing third on the log.

The White Knights are one-time Arab Club Championship winners but are yet to make a significant impact since 2003; however, with their opening game performance, we expect them to make it to the knockout stage.

Expert Betting Tips

Zamalek won heavily against US Monastir, scoring four times without a response from the Tunisian side. On the contrary, Al Shabab settled for a draw against an incomplete Al Nasr side, who had Ronaldo, Talisca and Forfan on the bench. Al Shabab have sold most of their important players, with Krychowiak, Boupendza, Paulinho Paula and Christian Guanca released. Zamalek have a great squad, and we expect them to be stronger here; bet on an away win in either half for 1.83.

We expect to see more than two goals here for 1.84.

The White Knights are expected to score a goal before the break for 1.80.
