2021 Yearender: Zamalek defy odds to snatch Egyptian league title

Zamalek won the Egyptian Premier League in 2021. It was their first league title in six years. The club was in financial trouble and had three different board members. They were eliminated from the Champions League at the group stage. FIFA banned them for two transfer windows for signing a player. Now they are level on 19 points with league leaders Ahly. They have a game in hand.   Zalak are still in the race.. Ahl won't be able to defend their title. Their last title was back in 1978. Zamaleks won it in 1981.
