Alabama, Oklahoma lead college football's Week 11 winners and losers

No. 11 Alabama beat No. 9 Mississippi 30-24. Last week's loss to No 8 LSU hurt the Crimson Tide's chances of returning to the College Football Playoff.

Alabama beat Ole Miss to keep the Crimson Tide in the hunt for a New Year's Six bowl. LSU will represent the SEC West in conference championship game. The Tide have won the West every season but five. They finished second in 2019.   They are still in contention for the playoff. Alabama's two losses in hand mean they are out of the spotlight.

Clemson beat Louisville 31-16. Louisville's Malik Cunningham suffered a shoulder injury and didn't return. DJ Uiagalelei threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Clemson avoided losing back-to-back games in the regular season for the first time since 2011.

No. 21 Central Florida beat No. 17 Tulane 38-31. The Knights are in a tie for first in the American. They play Navy and South Florida to end the month. UCF is likely to play in either the conference championship game or a rematch against Tulana.

Purdue is back atop the Big Ten West after beating No. 20 Illinois 31-24. The Boilermakers are 4-3 in league play and have a couple of close games against Indiana and Northwestern.

Mike Elko's first season in charge of Duke is going well. The Blue Devils are 7-3 and could finish second in the ACC Coastal with a win against Pittsburgh next Saturday.

Florida beat South Carolina 38-6 to secure bowl eligibility. The win raises the odds of an eight-win season for the team. Alabama and Oklahoma are the other winners and losers from the Week 11 college football games.

Oklahoma lost 23-20 to West Virginia. The Sooners are 5-5 and in danger of missing the postseason. They have games against Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to close the regular season.

Kentucky lost to Vanderbilt. The Wildcats were ahead 21-17 with five minutes left. Vanderbilt converted a pair of fourth downs to score the game-winning score with 32 seconds left and win the contest.

Virginia's team got off to a terrible start against Pittsburgh. The Panthers turned that fast start into a 37-7 win to earn a spot in the postseason.  Alabama, Oklahoma lead college football's Week 11 winners and losers.
