We’ve already covered the Michigan vs. Texas CFP exact result odds and the Michigan vs. Washington CFP exact result odds, and now we’re laying out the crucial factors in a potential face-off between Alabama and Washington.

Alabama has a chance to dominate the line of scrimmage in a hypothetical National Championship matchup with Washington. The Crimson Tide did so to the tune of 114 rushing yards and a touchdown vs. a Georgia defense that ranks fourth in the SEC against the run.

Washington surrenders 133 yards per game on the ground, and the Tide’s offensive line should get plenty of push if they face the Huskies. Doing so would chew the clock and leave Michael Penix Jr. and Co. with a thin margin for error, as well as open things up for Jalen Milroe in the passing game.

No offense in college football was better through the air than Washington’s, which tallied 343 yards per week. Alabama’s 38 sacks were the 10th-most in FBS, and the Tide must pressure Penix early and often to avoid getting burnt by the Heisman runner-up.

The Crimson Tide will have the obvious upper hand in coaching, thanks to Nick Saban’s seven National Championships. Saban has been there and done that more than any coach in college football history, and his vast experience would aid Alabama players as they play on the biggest stage of their young careers.

The Huskies scored 37 points per game this season and must keep their foot on the gas to win the third National Championship in school history. The Penix-to-Rome Odunze connection was strong from Week 1, with Penix passing for the most yards in FBS and Odunze ranking second in receiving yards.

The pair have proven they step up when the lights are brightest, posting incredible numbers in two matchups with Oregon’s top-tier defense. In total, Penix threw for 621 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions vs. the Ducks, while Odunze recorded 230 yards and two scores.

When Penix and Odunze are clicking, Washington can compete with anyone. However, nothing will come easy against an Alabama defense that was top-25 in the nation against the pass.

If running back Dillon Johnson can get loose, the Huskies will be in excellent shape to raise the National Championship trophy. The Mississippi native balled out at the end of the regular season, averaging 136 yards and scoring eight touchdowns in the Huskies’ last five games.
