Alligator Blood snaps back to form in Champions Mile

Alligator Blood won the Champions Mile at Flemington on Saturday. It was his second Group 1 win of the Melbourne Spring Carnival. He was a winner of Australian Guineas as a three-year-old. The horse had a back injury and had to be re-homed. Tim Clark took him straight to the front and he won by half a length. Mr Brightside came third. The stable was masterful. They kept him up for a couple of weeks to freshen up. Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott were adamant about the mile. Gerry Harvey is the part-owner.
