Amanda Serrano vs Heather Hardy betting preview

This rematch is a bit odd, considering how easily Serrano beat Hardy the first time around in 2019. Serrano nearly ended matters in the first round, then proceeded to dominate the remainder of the fight. The lack of available opponents for Serrano combined with Katie Taylor seeking a rematch with Chantelle Camryn has left the door open for this rematch. Since then, Serrano fought seven times with the only loss being to Taylor at lightweight.

Serrano remains formidable and among the best female fighters in the world. A strong finisher with excellent technique, Serrano isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, and seems to be challenged by the true elite. Her ability to target the head and body, fire in combinations, and her total experience all contribute to her being a significant favorite.

Hardy has enjoyed success in both boxing and MMA via Bellator. “The Heat” is known for her toughness, which has carried her to minor titles at junior bantamweight and featherweight. Time isn’t on Hardy’s side at 41 years of age, and has been inactive since a 2021 loss to Jessica Camara.

She showed a tremendous amount of grit in the first Serrano fight, but not much else. It’s possible that Serrano’s constant jumping of weight classes and a perceivably easy opponent could open the door for a massive upset. It’ll be up to Hardy to put her best foot forward against an opponent who handily defeated her before.

Amanda Serrano vs Heather Hardy boxing prediction and best bet

Prediction: Amanda Serrano ML

You can’t just be one thing and expect to beat Serrano. Hardy found that out all too well in 2019, and she hasn’t evolved her skill set aside from her brief stint in Bellator. Serrano is also not committing to fight outside of featherweight anymore, preferring to stay at her natural weight class.

There was nothing Hardy did in the first fight to suggest she has a chance in the rematch. Now that she’s older and on the decline, the best she can hope for is going the distance.

Serrano might have Hardy in front of her for the whole night, which should give her plenty of scoring opportunities. As long as she’s about her wits, she should win.

Serrano should go 2-0 over Hardy, but we’ll look elsewhere for value.

Prediction: Amanda Serrano ML (-2,000 at DraftKings)

Best Bet: Amanda Serrano to win by decision

Though Serrano jumped on Hardy in their first fight, she wasn’t able to finish her. With Hardy likely to press forward for better or worse combined with Serrano’s punching power, a knockout prediction is enticing. However, Hardy did survive and made it to the final bell.

Knowing how tough Hardy is, as well as seeing her technical limitations first hand, Serrano won’t have trouble outboxing her. She’ll outclass Hardy again, winning by a lopsided decision

Prediction: Amanda Serrano to win by decision (+125 at DraftKings)
