Herm Edwards was fired after three games and the team stumbled to a 3-9 record. Young Kenny Dillingham (Oregon) comes in and has purged the roster. . This will be interesting.

Arizona State Football Predictions: AREAS TO WATCH
Outside of Colorado, Arizona State may have the largest Power 5 roster turnover. Offensively, Drew Pyne (ND) has a decent one-year body of work.
The run game might live or die with a solid transfer from lower-level Sacramento State. The WR/TE room returns the most starters. Four transfers with various levels of starting experience will dot the OL.
This grouping that scares me the most, and will be a weekly watch. Brian Ward left Washington State to coach the defense. He gets six projected transfer starters, two at each level. The four from power five schools have 21 career starts.
The other two are DB starters from Austin Peay. Amazingly, 19 of the 22 projected starters are junior or seniors, and the secondary might have all (five) seniors. In keeping with the theme, every special team player (PK, P, KR, PR) will be new. The new PK is from Cal (11-17).
Arizona State Football2023 Predictions, Arizona State Schedule:
Games 2-3 are at home vs. Oklahoma State and Fresno State. Both teams have roster holes but Arizona State might be satisfied with a split. Game #5, at Cal, is the staff’s 1st road game.
Shouldn’t Cal’s staff have an edge here? Arizona State hopes for more, but 3-3 sounds about right in the 1st half of the year.
Unfortunately, four of their remaining games are at Wash, at Utah, at UCLA and home vs. Oregon. The remaining games are home to WSU (good history until recently, WSU just off Oregon) and home in the finale vs. Arizona.
Arizona State Football Bottom Line:
Too many moving parts, and too young a staff? 4-8 is the most logical resultfor Arizona State, although my Pac 12 schedule grid shows 5-7 just as possible.
I’m in a couple of times at UNDER 5 wins, so adjustments will need to be made if all the new pieces come together faster than expected.
