Arkansas Derby Predictions, Picks, Odds (Oaklawn Park)

Secret Oath is a daughter of Arrogate and trained by D. Wayne Lukas. She is trying to become the first filly to win a Kentucky Derby qualifier since the adoption of the points system in 2013. Secret Oath will take on eight 3-year-old males in the $1.25 million Arkansas Derby on Saturday at Oaklawn Park. Un Ojo, Barber Road and We The People are the top contenders.

Secret Oath is the favorite for the Arkansas Derby. She is a daughter of Arrogate. D. Wayne Lukas is trainer of Secret Oath. Secret oath has won three straight races. She has enough early speed to stay in touch early and then an impressive turn of foot.

We The People has only two starts to date, but both were impressive wins over the Oaklawn Park track. He's shown good early speed in his maiden and allowance races. Flavien Prat will ride him on Saturday.

Doppelganger is making his first start for trainer Tim Yakteen. Flavien Prat will ride him, while John Velazquez will be the jockey. Doppel ganger was beaten by the Forbidden Kingdom in the last two races.

Barber Road has been consistent in his recent races at Oaklawn Park. He finished third in the Rebel last time. Barber Road meets Un Ojo again on Saturday. Unojo has the better chance of winning the Arkansas Derby.

Un Ojo won the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes last time. Four of the horses he beat in the Rebel are back to try him again on Saturday. Un O jo is a New York-bred gelding. He likes the track and he is proven at nine furlongs.

Cyberknife is trained by Brad Cox and has run several promising races in his five-race career. Cyberknife failed in the Risen Star, but he came back to score impressively against the allowance company last time.

Chasing Time made his debut in the Rebel and finished fifth. It was only his second start against graded stakes level sophomores. He is not worth considering for Saturday's race.

Kavod is trying to improve on his fourth-place finishes in the Smarty Jones, Southwest, and Rebel. He is drawing the rail and is likely to be fading down the stretch.

Ben Diesel has finished behind Barber Road in three straight races at Oaklawn Park. Ben Diesel had a strong workout on Saturday.
