Arsenal Favourites to Top Premier League Spending This Summer
Arsenal’s nearly-season last term left them with loftier ambitions for the 2023/24 campaign, and they have already taken significant strides to ensure they are back competing for the title once more. According to exclusive odds complied by SportsLens, they are strongly favoured to top the Premier League spending.

“Arsenal look to be focusing on trimming a bloated squad after racing out the blocks to secure three high-profile names, but everything points towards more arrivals later in the window.
“Elsewhere, Chelsea look all but certain to add Moises Caicedo to their ranks, while Andre Onana’s imminent arrival signals Manchester United’s second marquee signing of the window after Mason Mount.
“Although Arsenal are strong favourites according to our exclusive odds, expect the league’s fellow big spenders to play catch up later in the summer.”
Arsenal’s Spending Spree Nears £200m
Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz combine to take Arsenal’s spending up to £198.3m so far this summer.
The Gunners, as mentioned, will turn their attention to raising funds for further arrivals later in the summer, with the likes of Rob Holding, Cedric, Sambi Lokonga and Nicolas Pepe all deemed surplus to requirements.
The club have already blown their previous single-window record (£142m) out the water from 2021, and it would come as no surprise to see them stretch their spending power to the max in order to challenge Manchester City next term.
Chelsea and Manchester United Are Just Getting Started
Chelsea appear to be the only side with concrete interest in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo at this stage, and with the fanbase expectant, the Ecuadorian would become their fifth signing of the window. A fee in excess of £80m would take their spending close to £200m following the arrivals of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Angelo.
After breaking the single-window record not once, but twice in the same season last term, the Blues have gone some way to recouping those astronomical figures – as many as 11 players have exited the club.
As for Manchester United, Inter Milan will command a fee close to £50m for Andre Onana, taking their spending above £100m after also adding Mason Mount this month.
Their search for a new number nine appears more and more desperate as the window progresses, and the Red Devils will more than likely need to break the bank in order to bring in an established goalscorer.
Further Down The Market
Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Southampton’s Romeo Lavia with Fabinho all but confirmed to be on his way to Saudi Arabia, which could see the Reds move close to the £150m mark.
It is unlikely that Newcastle and Manchester City will get close to the teams already mentioned, but both are expected to enter the market again before the window closes at the beginning of September.
