Arsenal transfer news: Ex-Man City ace Ferran Torres among top FIVE alternative signings after Mudryk joins Chelsea

FORMER Manchester City star Ferran Torres is among the top FIVE most likely transfer alternatives for Arsenal after they missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who rank the Spanish winger a 5/1 shot to head back to the Premier League.

Mudryk looked set for a switch to the Emirates, including posting some less-than-cryptic social media posts suggesting that was the move he wanted.

Chelsea's injury problems - and form issues in general - led the Blues to splash out a deal for the Ukrainian star and unveil him to the supporters during the win over Crystal Palace last weekend.

That's left Mikel Arteta back at square one as he plans to bolster his squad for a push towards the Premier League title.

Torres has fallen well down the pecking order at Barcelona under Xavi, having made the switch back to Spain in the summer.

Despite it potentially being an easy sell, he's only third favourite to join the Gunners this month.

It's team-mate Raphinha who tops the pile as a 7/2 shot with Betfair.

He occupies the same position at Barca as Torres but also finds himself behind Ousmane Dembele in the battle for the right-wing spot.

Teenage star Gavi was played out of position in the wing role in the win over Real Madrid and with Ansu Fati also available in that role, game time could prove limited for the former Leeds United man.

Lenadro Trossard is 9/2 to join Arsenal this month after he fell out with Brighton boss Roberto Di Zerbi.

The Belgian missed the stunning win over Liverpool last weekend, with Di Zerbi saying: "The last session before [the] last game, when he understood he wasn't playing, he left the session without telling me anything.

"I told him I don't like this attitude."

Spurs have reportedly had a £12million bid rejected for the 28-year-old and Arsenal could make their move.

Youri Tielemans joins Torres as a 5/1 shot, with the Leicester midfielder out of contract in the summer.

The Foxes could sell this month to recoup some sort of fee for the Belgian, with other Premier League sides reportedly interested too.

Team-mate James Maddison is then a 16/1 shot, with Newcastle very interested in his signature.
