Game Preview

Arsenal haven’t beaten Pep Guardiola’s Man City in their last six meetings, in all competitions. The Gunners’ last win against Wednesday’s opponents came in the FA Cup nearly three years ago.

This week’s game has more importance than many of their past meetings though. Arsenal are leading the Premier League table and looking to lift their first title since 2004. They currently have one game in hand over Man City, who remain three points behind having played a game more.

The Gunners will have the home advantage so will play in front of a packed Emirates crowd. Beating Man City is never easy though, and after failing to win in any of their last three outings, Arsenal will come into this one off the back of their worst run all season.

Man City, on the other hand, may not be the same side fans are used to seeing tear up the league, but they’re definitely showing signs of improvement.

Although the team from Manchester lost to Tottenham just over a week ago, they bounced straight back with a resounding 3-1 win over Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

The defending champions’ latest victory may have come at a cost though. Striker Erling Haaland was hauled off at half-time after picking up a thigh injury, consequently, the Norweigan is now a doubt for Wednesday’s match.

Arsenal vs Man City Prediction

This one is really hard to call.

It’s possible no one will want to overcommit and may look to play it safe considering how much is at stake.

However, when you consider both teams are at their best when they play free-flowing, attacking soccer, it’s more likely fans will see goals scored at both ends of the pitch.

Not underestimating the importance of this match, as well as the fact these two teams are clearly the two top sides in England, we expect the points to be shared, but as we mentioned above, don’t rule out goals, so for that reason, our Arsenal vs Man City prediction is going to be for the game to end in a draw but both teams to score.
