As free agency calms, Astros remain World Series favorites
Houston Astros are the betting favorite to win the World Series in 2023. They beat the Phillies in 2022 Fall Classic. Houston has won two World Championships since 2017. The Los Angeles Dodgers have the second-lowest odds. New York Mets, New Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres are also under 20-to-1. Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners are only other teams with consensus odds below 20. Astros lost their ace in Justin Verlander to New Yorkers, but they have a promising young pitching staff and a few promising players.
