Astros vs. Brewers prediction and odds for Wednesday, May 24

The Milwaukee Brewers are starting to take over the NL Central, establishing themselves as a real threat in the National League.

They'll wrap up a three game interleague series against the Houston Astros on Wednesday, and they'll put out Adrian Houser (3.07 ERA) to take on Brandon Bielak (2.89 ERA) of the Astros.

Let's take a look at the betting odds for Wednesday's series finale and then I'll give you my best bet.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it today. The way to bet on the Milwaukee Brewers is to fade them when facing left-handed pitchers but bet on them when facing right-handed pitchers.

Their OPS is a lowly .636 against lefties but a strong .727 against righties. On Wednesday, they'll face a right-handed starter in Brandon Bielak, which means now is the time to bet on them.

It also helps that Bielak's ERA is due for some regression. It's sitting at 2.89, but his FIP (Field Independent Pitching) is sitting at 4.62. That usually means his numbers will start to regress closer to where his FIP sits.

Adrian Houser has only made three starts this season, but he's coming off his best performance to date, throwing six scoreless innings against the Tampa Bay Rays.
