Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics Odds

The Boston Celtics (1-0 SU, 1-0 ATS) welcome the Atlanta Hawks (0-1, 0-1) to TD Garden on Tuesday for Game 2 of their first-round series following a dominant defensive performance in Game 1.

The C’s opened as the 10.5-point home favorite with the total set at 228 points. Boston has won six straight games against Atlanta and seven of the last 10, while the UNDER is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between the two teams.

Latest Betting Notes: Hawks

The Hawks came up short offensively in Game 1 as they fell 112-99 and scored less than 100 points for the first time since December 7. Dejounte Murray led Atlanta with 24 points while Trae Young had just 16 in the loss.

Atlanta’s offensive struggles on Saturday can be attributed almost solely to their poor three-point shooting as the Hawks went 5-for-29 from beyond the arc while the Celtics shot 13-for-33. Young and Murray combined for just one made three-pointer on 11 attempts – something that will have to be improved upon in Game 2.

Latest Betting Notes: Celtics

The Celtics had another strong defensive showing in Game 1 while Jaylen Brown (29 points, 12 rebounds) and Jayson Tatum (25 points, 11 rebounds) took over offensively to carry Boston to an early series lead. Derrick White also scored 24 points in the win.

Tatum and Brown put up points consistently all season long for Boston and that trend has continued early on in the postseason. The duo combined for just under 60 points per game in March as the Celtics averaged more than 120 points that month, so it looks like the C’s are peaking at the right time.

Hawks Player Prop: Young OVER 25 Points (-108)

Young had a pretty disappointing start to his postseason, which was a bit of a continuation to his inconsistent finish to the regular season. He did score 24-plus points in his final three games but netted 14 or fewer in four of seven contests prior to that.

Still, the point guard is Atlanta’s most dynamic scorer and averaged 31 points against Boston in two regular-season meetings this year. Clearly he has the capacity to produce against the Celtics, which is why he’s got a good shot at cashing the OVER on 25 points in Game 2.

Celtics Player Prop: Brown OVER 28 Points (-103)

Brown has been a model of consistency down the stretch for the C’s, scoring 25-plus points in 15 of his last 19 games to close out the regular season. That hot streak bled into Game 1 as Brown shot 12-for-23 from the field and led all scorers.

The guard averaged 23 points in two games against the Hawks this season but after his performance in the opener, it’s hard to bet against him cashing the OVER on 28 points.
