He’ll now face world No. 10 Hubert Hurkacz in a Saturday evening clash. Hurkacz reached the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2021 but is in uncharted territory at the Aussie Open.
Korda and Hurkacz faced off in 2021 at Delray Beach, with the latter coming out on top in straights.

Jessica Pegula vs. Barbora Krejcikova
Jessica Pegula has been a buzzsaw through three rounds, slicing and dicing her way to a trio of straight-set victories.
She’s fresh off a 6-0, 6-2 laugher against Poland’s Marta Kostyuk and now sets her sights on WTA No. 3 Barbora Krejcikova.
The veteran Czech has a French Open feather in her cap after winning the title in 2021. Krejcikova is a clay court specialist but owns a respectable 95-71 career hard court record.
This match has the makings of a classic, as Pegula looks to advance to her third straight Australian Open quarterfinals, while Krejcikova is vying for back-to-back appearances in the final eight.

Coco Gauff vs. Jelena Ostapenko
Like Pegula, Coco Gauff has made quick work of her opponents through Day 5 at the AO. A convincing 6-3, 6-2 win over Bernarda Pera has set up a date with Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko in the Round of 16.
Ostapenko has been ranked as high as No. 5 in her career and owns a 2017 French Open championship. It will be 18-year-old Gauff’s toughest test of the tournament, but she’s still priced as a heavy favorite at (-460).
A win for either player would mark their inaugural trip to the final eight. The two have met just once before in 2019, with Gauff prevailing in three sets at the Linz in Austria.
