Colorado's struggles away from Ball Arena have been evident throughout the season, and Ryan Gilbert expects Florida to take advantage when these two teams clash on Saturday. Read more in our Avalanche vs. Panthers betting picks.

The Colorado Avalanche continue their Eastern Conference road trip with a matchup against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. The NHL odds board has the Panthers are slight home favorites against one of the best teams in the West.

Colorado has been outscored 12-6 during its first three games, while Florida is set to wrap up its three-game homestand. The Avalanche will be looking for revenge after suffering an 8-4 loss at home to Florida last month.

Avalanche vs Panthers predictions

The All-Star break served as a bit of a reset button for teams, for better or worse.

For the Colorado Avalanche, they went into the break on a three-game winning streak — outscoring the opposition 18-7 in those games. However, they've stumbled out of the break with three straight losses and it doesn't get any easier tonight.

The Florida Panthers also went into the break with a winning streak of four games, and after losing to the Flyers as big favorites, they bounced back with a 4-2 win against the lowly Capitals.

The Panthers are built from the back out with former Vezina Trophy-winning goalie Sergei Bobrovsky (24-10-2, 2.49 GAA, .910 SV%) between the pipes tonight. They also have been playing great defensively in front of him recently, allowing two goals or fewer in six straight games.

"We swarm," Florida defenseman Aaron Ekblad said. "We play that man-on-man system, and we have a lot of guys who can do great things in the D-zone, staying between the puck and the net."

That streak is definitely in jeopardy against a high-flying team like the Avalanche, but Colorado has only scored six goals in its three games since the break.

The Avalanche's struggles on this road trip aren't too surprising given their record away from home this season. They're 20-5-0 in Colorado but just 12-11-4 away from Ball Arena. On the other hand, the Panthers are 15-8-2 at home and 17-7-2 on the road.

The Panthers are playing much better hockey than the Avalanche right now and Colorado is in a tough spot as the visiting team. The Cats should be able to get the job done at home tonight.

My best bet: Panthers moneyline (-135 at BetMGM)

Avalanche vs Panthers same-game parlay

Panthers moneyline

Sam Reinhart anytime goalscorer

Panthers forward Sam Reinhart is having a career year as he’s set to hit free agency this summer. The former second-overall pick is showing that potential with 63 points (38 goals) in 51 games this season, and he's really turned it on in the second half of the year.

Reinhart has 20 goals in 19 games since December 23 and has only been held out of the goal column in three of those games. Overall, Reinhart has a goal in over half of his games this season (30 of 51), so continuing to get plus odds on him is a great look.

Adding Reinhart to score to our best bet of the Panthers moneyline gets us up to close to +200 odds.

Avalanche vs Panthers moneyline and Over/Under analysis

Florida's odds haven't moved too much since opening at -130. You can get the Panthers between -135 and -142, while Colorado is now listed at +120 since opening at +110.

The total is set at 6.5 with the Over 6.5 juiced to -115. Despite there being 12 goals in the first meeting, the Under 6.5 would be my play here. The Panthers are playing great defensively and we tend to see these playoff teams try to lock in over the final few months of the season.
