Baltimore Orioles at Minnesota Twins 3/7/23
This Tuesday, the Baltimore Orioles will head to the CenturyLink Sports Complex to take on the Minnesota Twins. Spring training isn't exactly going to plan for the Baltimore Orioles as they currently hold an overall record of 4-5. The Orioles will enter this game against the Minnesota Twins following a huge win against the Philadelphia Phillies which resulted in a final score of 10-7.
The Orioles were just a couple wins away last season of sneaking into the wildcard but unfortunately came up just short, safe to say that this will be their redemption season. In the game against the Phillies, 1st baseman Ryan O’Hearn led the way for the Orioles as he went on to score 2 runs, have two RBI’s, and of course he hit a homer right down the middle in the bottom of the 9th to walk it off. If O’Hearn can play like that for at least 25% of the games all year, the Orioles will be in a pretty good spot.
The Minnesota Twins will enter this game against the Baltimore Orioles following a massive win against the Detroit Tigers yesterday which resulted in a final score of 6-2. In the match against the Tigers, Joey Gallo set the tone right away as he homered to right field in the bottom of the 2nd inning to give his team the lead. Gallo went on to have 2 more hits and managed to get himself 2 RBI’s.
The Twins haven’t exactly started spring training off the way they wanted to as they currently hold an overall record of 4-6 as they won one and lost one in a double header yesterday. The Twins will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with when the regular season comes around and might be a team that you will see in the playoffs in October.
This game will be very close. Regardless if it’s only spring training, both the Twins and the Orioles will take this very seriously as they have a lot to prove this season and if they want to have a hot start, they’ll need to be in mid-season form when the season starts.
