Ben and JD Hayes duo aiming to repeat grandad's feats with Mr Brightside after PB Lawrence win

Ben and JD Hayes' horse Mr Brightside won the PB Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. Colin Hayes won that race with So Called in 1978. So called won John F Feehan Stake and the Cox Plate that year. Ben Hayes wants to follow the same path with MrBrightside. Mrbrightside will go for the Group 1 Memsie Stages on August 27 and then to the Feehans Stables.

Mr Brightside takes out the P.B. Lawrence.

Mr Brightside won the PB Lawrence Stakes. It was his first weight-for-age win. He is a $26 chance in the latest Cox Plate betting. The gelding is still a month and a half to two months away from the Grand Finals. . Mr Bright side won at handicap in Doncaster Mile and at the top level in weight for age.
