Boise State has its hands full coming into their bowl game against UCLA. UCLA has one of the best defenses in the Pac-12, despite their 7-5 record. The Bruins have a scoring issue, but they were physical and redefined what it means to play in the Pac-12. 

What makes things more challenging for Boise State in this game is they won’t have their quarterback, Taylen Green. Green is filling the KJ Jefferson void at Arkansas next season, putting Boise State in a tough spot. 

The Broncos can still cover the spread in this game, but it will take a strong effort in the trenches. Boise State has a very talented offensive line, which is why they’re 8-5 on the year. 

Ashton Jeanty is one of the best running backs in the country. He is just a sophomore but has 1262 yards this year with 14 touchdowns. He has averaged over six yards per carry this year and is coming off a game where he carried the ball 21 times for 153 yards in the Mountain West Conference Championship. 

His line is listed at 87.5 yards, and he has two 100+ yard games and a 212-yard performance in his past five contests. UCLA allows less than 70 rushing yards per game, but Boise State has no choice but to lean on the ground game.

They also shouldn’t be playing from behind to the point where they must abandon the run game. The stage is ideal for Jeanty to exceed 87.5 yards on the ground.

Tahj Brooks Over 124.5 Rushing Yards on FanDuel Sportsbook

You may be shocked to see us leaning over on a 124.5-yard rushing total. However, this is the move for a running back like Tahj Brooks. for Texas Tech. Brooks is a playmaker and one of the country's most explosive backs. 

There isn’t a lot of defense in the Pac-12, but this doesn’t take away from the fact that Brooks can run away from you and run through you at 230 pounds. Texas Tech constantly feeds him because of their lackluster downfield passing attack with Behren Morton.

Brooks has nearly the same amount of rushing yards as Morton has passing yards this season. Brooks has more rushing attempts than Morton has passing attempts, so he is a workhorse. 

Brooks has carried the ball 268 times this season for 1443 yards with nine touchdowns. He has three 30+ attempt games in his past five contests and has also gone over this line in three of his five. 

He averaged five yards per carry, even against a CFP team in Texas. Cal allows 133 yards per game on the ground and the fourth most points in the Pac-12. They also have a middle-of-the-road offense, so we don’t see them playing with a lead in this game. This will allow Texas Tech to stick to its game plan and pound the football.
