The NCAA football season is well underway now, with nine undefeated teams at the top, including No. 2 ranked Michigan at 2-0. The Wolverines have yet to play a ranked team, though, and are 40.5-point favorites against Bowling Green in Saturday’s matchup.

So far, Michigan has cruised in the first two games of the 2023 season. They have the goods everywhere it counts, with an on-target QB in J.J. McCarthy and a dominant defense. In the first two games, they’ve outscored their opponents 65-10. Yes, you read that right.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh is serving his final game of the three-game suspension, so Sherrone Moore will be at the helm. But the loss of their head coach hasn’t dinked the Wolverines one bit as they’ve taken on unranked non-conference teams for their first two matchups.

Michigan has focused on McCarthy’s strong passing in the first two games, with J.J. getting over 500 passing yards. The run game has been quieter, so we’ll see if it comes out against Bowling Green.

Harbaugh called McCarthy an “igniter” in a press conference going into week 3, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can flame up this week.

Michigan will likely continue to have a strong season. They don’t play a ranked team until their rivalry match against Ohio State on Nov. 25.

Bowling Green has taken on former Indiana QB Connor Bazelak. Michigan played the Hoosiers in Bloomington last year and had a tougher game than many expected. Balezak is experienced after playing with Missouri, Indiana, and now Bowling Green. However, he’s not proven he’s a match for the suffocating Michigan defense.

Bazelak isn’t much of a runner, with negative yards overall in his career. He recorded just 71 passing yards and three interceptions in their game against Liberty.

Considering the matchup on the Wolverine’s home turf, we doubt that Bowling Green can get a touchdown in this game. With the Wolverine’s pass rush looking strong against UNLV last week, we’re confident that Michigan can snuff out the Bowling Green offense. Michigan is ranked 13th in defense this year.

Our pick for the best bet is to go for Bowling Green Total under 6.5 points, currently at -111 odds on FanDuel.

Any touchdown or rushing prop on Blake Corum is going to be a good bet. But oddsmakers are onto his talent (of course), so simply betting Corum to score isn’t enough. The odds are -1800, so you won’t get good money.

Instead, you could bet on Corum to be the first touchdown scorer (+210) or to score 2+ touchdowns (-210) or 3+ touchdowns (+190).
